Do I need to be saved?
1. God is holy, and no sin will ever enter His presence.
"The LORD our God is holy." (Psalm 99:9)
2. Man is sinful. "For all have sinned, and come short
of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
3. Sin separates man from God. "But your iniquities
have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face
from you." (Isaiah 59:2)
4. It is impossible for man to save himself. "That
every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before
God...by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His
sight." (Romans 3:19, 20) Can I be saved?
1. Yes, for God sent His Son to be your Savior. "Herein
is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son
to be the propitiation for our sins." (1 John 4:10)
2. The living Savior invites sinners to accept Him.
"Come with Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will
give you rest...and ye shall find rest unto your souls." (Matthew
11:28, 29)
3. Forgiveness of sins and salvation can be yours through
Christ. "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the
just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God." (1 Peter
3:18) How can I be saved?
1. Acknowledge that you are a sinner before a holy God.
"God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us...we shall be saved from wrath through
Him." (Romans 5:8, 9)
2. Be willing, with God's help to turn from sin.
"Repent, ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out..." (Acts 3:19)
3. Receive the living Christ into your heart as your very
own. "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh
unto the Father, but by Me." (John 14:6) Have
you made this important decision?
1. You need wait no longer. "Behold, now is the
accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." (2
Corinthians 6:2)
2. You need not wait until you are a better person because Jesus
said: "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to
repentance." (Mark 2:17)
3. You need not wait for an unusual experience. Salvation is
by faith in what God says. "Verily, verily (truly, truly), I
say unto you, he that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent
Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is
passed from death unto life." (John 5:24)
4. Being aware that I am a sinner and in need of salvation, I
accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
